Movember Day 17: Holly’s Eve

Holly’s Eve is the gala holiday event in Sandpoint. It is a fundraiser for a number of local organizations that support the arts, people with disabilities, and the needy, to name a few. As it is Sandpoint, attendees’ dress varies from patent leather shoes and tuxedos to skate shoes and sweatshirts. There’s a fashion show, a silent auction, a live auction, a hors d’ouevres dinner catered by 20 local restaurants, complimentary champagne, and a cash bar.

My girlfriend loves to dress up (She was the best dressed woman there, if I may say so myself). As such, it encourages me not to look like such a slob when we go to events like this. Which, consequently, we have gone to largely because of free tickets. Some friends of ours donate to the organizations that put these galas on and generally offer us some of their free tickets.
